This year, we have teams to select for the following competitions

World Championships

World Youth Championships

World University Student Games

Commonwealth Youth championships

Oceania Area championships

For most of those, we have far fewer expressions of interest than we should have. Athletes who have achieved qualifying performances haven’t filed anything.

If you are eligible and interested, get the forms in. We sometimes don’t know who is even eligible (eg tertiary students for World Universities – it’s easy enough to know when you’re at school, but where you go after that isn’t so clear).

We often surprise ourselves, but we cannot read your minds. It takes you much less time to complete and file a form than it takes us to chase after you one by one to find out if you want to be selected.

If it’s good enough for Olympic and Commonwealth medalwinners to complete forms, it’s good enough for you.
