Michelle's background includes over 10 years involvement in high performance sport, first as an athlete (athletics and cycling) and more recently as a coach in both sports. I believe this experience will be important in her role working with us." said Kevin Ankrom High Performance Director for Athletics New Zealand.

Michelle returns to New Zealand after just recently graduating from Indiana State University (USA) where she earned a Master of Science Degree in Physical Education (specialising in coaching). During her studies at Indiana State Michelle was also involved in coaching as an assistant with the track and field team working with the long sprinters and 400m hurdlers.

Michelle begins her post on 22 February 2010.
