Greer Alsop of Invercargill won the silver medal in the triple jump with her performance of 12.39m. Alsop also competed in the long jump where she finished fourth with 5.83m. Dalton Coppins won bronze in the 200m in 21.75s. Che Kenneally won the bronze medal in the shot put with 12.96m.

Day 1 of athletics 9.09.11: Kodi Harman 100m 3^rd heat 1 11.11s (+0.7), 7^th semi-final 2 11.12s (+2.5). Blair Grant 100m 5^th heat 3 11.09s (+1.4), 7^th semi-final 1 11.13s (+3.4). Tom Symes 400m 3^rd heat 1 49.89s, 4^th semi-final 2 49.88s.
Day 2 10.09.11: Kodi Harman 200m 2^nd heat 3 22.45s (+4.1), Dalton Coppins 200m 1^st heat 4 21.42s (+7.2). Tom Symes 400m 6^th final 50.40s. Kieron McDonald 800m 1^st heat 4 2m 6.27s. Day 3 11.09.11: Madison Gipson 200m 4^th semi-final 2 25.60s (+1.5), Dalton Coppins 200m 2^nd semi-final 2 21.64s (+5.8), 3^rd final 21.75s (+3.6), Kieron McDonald 800m 4^thsemi-final 1 1m 56.48s, 6^th final 1m 56.27s. Kerry White 800m 4^th final 2m 13.80s. Matt Baxter 3000m 7^th final 8m 46.39s. Greer Alsop triple jump 2^nd 12.39m (+2.3). Kyle Van der Merwe javelin throw 9^th 40.49m, shot put 7^th 16.04m.
